How Much Cake Will One Batch Of Mmf Cover?

I wanted to make a present cake for the people at my DH workplace. I wanted to cover an 8" square cake. I'm not sure how many layers I will be making. Will one batch cover the cake and will it have enough leftover for a simple bow? Thanks!
The Wilton class III package cake is a 8 inch cake that was two layers. I made one batch of MMF and had enough to cover the cake and make the bow and ribbon, and had leftovers.
It depends on which size batch you're talking. I would do the large batch and just keep the left over. You MAY have enough for the cake but definitely not enough for the bow also.
Good luck!

Did you use the recipe listed here? Also, how thick did you roll your MMF to? I know it should be about 1/4", did you do that for both the cake and the bow? Thanks!
Yes I used the recipe from here
16oz marshmallows
2 tb water
2 lbs powdered sugar
I added 2 teaspoons of vanilla flavor.
I rolled the cake to 1/4 inch but the bow much thinner.
Let me see if I can attach a pic
I couldn't get it to upload here because I don't know how to resize a pic. It is in my album now though.
The bow was made in class and that is why it is so flat. It didn't dry properly.
This weekend I made a cake that was 10" round and 4" tall. I made one batch (with 2# bag of sugar and 16oz marshmallows) and I still had some left over.
