I asked my daughter turning 8 what kind of cake she wants for her birthday.
First she said a 3-d garfield on skates. Then she changed her mind to a kitty on a ball of yarn. Changed again to a pink and purple cake with butterflies.
Now the final decision is a Bratz cake. She said let me draw what I want for you. I look at her picture and she has a 3-tiered cake drawn with One of the bratz on rollerskates(its a skating party). I had to laugh because she described that she wants a bct transfer on top of the cake.
I better get started soon....those designs on the tiers look pretty complicated Just thought I'd share..I'm sure some of you can relate
Hey, she could've done like my daughter and asked for a "normal" cake. At least your dd is daring.
That's true...I thought about your post when she was drawing this picture for me. I remembered your dd asked for a "normal cake" and I was laughing as mine was constructing this monster cake on paper. I'm sure next year she will ask me for a grocery store cake
One year my son couldn't decide between Scooby-Doo and Thomas the Train....
So, I made BOTH.
At least your DD is specific about what she wants.
My kids don't even LIKE cake! We have rice kripie treats or brownies around here--but only because I'm not about to stick candles into a bowl of frosting. Strange kids, I know.
LittleBigMomma: That sounds like something I would do. My daughter gets two cakes for her birthday - one for her friends party and another on Christmas Eve for the family birthday. This is why she can be specific because she gets to pick two.
lotsoftots: My daughter doesn't usually like cake either, but she likes the way I make my chocolate cake. I think because the consistency is more brownie-like. Other than that she won't touch the stuff. I don't know where she got it from..I could eat whole cakes at a time
