If I'm using Wilton meringue powder (which already has cream of tartar in it) do I still need to add cream of tartar to the recipe?

Thanks!

I didn't know it had cream of tartar in it! So you will be fine. The first time I made the recipe I used the Wilton meringue as well as the cream of tartar and it turned out just fine. You can also leave the cream of tartar out as I have read that antonia74 has had to do this on occasion and it was okay too

Thanks! That was fast! I'm just a newby playing around with extra cookies.

That no-fail cookie recipe was soooo awesome to work with. I had to make 2 dozen 5 inch teddy bears for my daughter's class and they decorated them with canned icing. I don't think I ever want to use such a huge cookie cutter again though. Lots of rolling and re-rolling the scraps. It was quite time consuming but in the end they devoured the cookies and I got compliments on the cute cookies.

Exactly how much icing does the recipe yield?
