Like those Louis Vuitton ones I seen this site? What size or what kind of pan do you use? Is there a purse pan? And how do you paint the purse if it was fondant?

Here is a cake I made before. You can use the diagram below to make any type of purse cake. You bake a square or rectangular cake, size will depend on how big you want the purse to be and servings you require. I usually make these with mud cake as they are very firm, a pound cake should be fine also. So once your square or rectangular cake is baked, trim off the top so that it is as even as possible. Then put your cake on the side, look at the diagram, this is showing the side of your cake. Measure 1/2 an inch on each side and mark it, and then cut with your cake diagonally with your knife from one marking to the next. You then need to turn your cake over so that both the square sides meet, you can join then with buttercream or other filling. When i did the Loui Vouitton bag i painted the logo on the fondant with cake decorator's alcohol and gold dust.
Hope all this makes sense.

I have also done a LV purse and it was easier than i thought it was going to be. Mine was made from a 9X13 cake that I cut into 4 pieces and stacked with buttercream in between. I then chilled it and carved the top ti round it off. All of this was then coveren in buttercream. I rolled out my piece of fondant and measured what i would need to cover it for length and width, cut it and then gently applied it. Same thing with the end pieces. To cover the seams I rolled out some tan fondant and applied it to the cake. The design was handpainted on the fondant with thinned down wilton colours.

I was hesitant to try making this cake but like I said it turned out to be a lot easier then I had anticipated. Gotta love that!

Hope this helps!

tripletmom...your purse looks great! thumbs_up.gif

I went the easy route and cut a round pan in half...I use some pink ribbon for the handle. Some of the purse cakes that I have seen on this site are so realistic!
