I was watching a show the other night and they were discussing the different types of coloring for frosting ie liquid, gel and powdered. They said that the powdered was the best. Im using the Wilton gel right now. Never knew the powdered existed. Any one use it? Do you think it is better? Where do you purchase it?

Thanks,

Mara

I actually just purchased some red and black powdered this last week and plan on trying some today. I can let you know how it goes.

The reson many people like powdered is because it doesn't change the consistancy of what you are coloring b/c you are not adding any more liquid to it.

Another popular coloring on the boards is Americolor-they make a gel. I have used some of this and have been happy with the results. It colors better than the wilton does in my opinion.

I order mine from Cakeart.com or Kitchenkrafts.com however you will get many more suggestions on who to order from. Everyone has their favorites depending on what you want to buy and how far they have to ship it.

Hope this helps.
