I'm well into my topsy turvy cake due tomorrow (Saturday) night...actually, that is tonight (since it's 2:35am), and as I sit here, trying to unwind I wonder...How many of us are up at these insane hours??? icon_eek.gif

I'm still very new to cake decorating, but already I've clocked some very late nights, and this is no exception. Following some advise of the very wise Antonia74 (love you!!!), thumbs_up.gif I went ahead and layered and filled my cakes tonight, froze for two hours (watched Conan during that time), then sculpted and crumbcoated them. They are chilling in the fridge right now, and I will get up early in the morning to ice and decorate, all the while praying that I cut out the right amount for my second tier. icon_surprised.gif Even if my body would relax, my mind never could. Once I'm on a project I live and dream about that darn cake! This is probably just from fear of it being a complete disaster, and I'm hoping eventually it will fade, but for now it is here and strong! icon_mad.gif Oh well!

I'll post pics once it's all said and done! You all are so wonderful, and I'm so thankful for this site and the great people on it!!! Happy decorating! icon_biggrin.gif

So do you mean you never went to bed or you got up super early?? icon_biggrin.gif

I am still up, but it's only 11 pm here, LOL. I am in Alaska. Waiting on my 11x15 sheet cake to be done baking.

I have had two late nights in a row, making gingerbread men (2am) and a snowman cupcake (1am). I really don't want to do it again tonight.

Procrastination has been my main enemy, LOL.

I wish you luck with your cake!! I have never done a topsy turvey. I am the same way about getting focused on the cake!

It's 3 AM as I type this, all the while wondering why the heck I keep doing this to myself. My hubby will be up at 5:30 AM and then my girls at 7:30 AM....another really short nite! I was working on a kitten cake and she kinda looks like an alien...oh well, that 's what happens when one stays up so late!

Good luck on your cake, can't wait to see it!

I thought I was the only insane person online! But at least you guys are baking. I can't go to bed without first checking out CC. It's also the only time I actually to get online and browse at my leisure- usually my brother is online.

My full time job is nights, so I'm always up at what you normal people call insane hours. I check out CC from work (like now) on my breaks, but it's usually very quiet at these hours icon_cry.gif . I love to be up overnight, it gives me quiet time to do my baking and web surfing whily DH sleeps. The only drawback, is that I can't crank up my sattelite radio while I work in the kitchen.

I also have one last baby shower cake due. Snice I've been doing cakes sleep is a something I only day dream about. I usually get about 3 to 4 hours a night on average.

Hee, hee... icon_lol.gif Glad to see I'm not the only one! Someone asked if I ever went to sleep, and no, I hadn't. I finally hit the sack about 3am, but you know I couldn't sleep, just kept thinking about that cake, and now I'm up again making that a whopping 5 hours of sleep. Though, I'm betting that's about how much some of you busy bakers get pretty normally! You all inspire me!!! icon_biggrin.gif

I was up too but no where near the computer.
My one year old woke me for his 2 am feeding...is that child ever going to start sleeping through the night??!

When he was younger I could NAK (nursing at keyboard) but he's much to interested inthe computer now, that doesn't work anymore. Rats!

I'm in the same mind set. I even had to stop looking at cakes before bed time cause I just can't turn off the brain if I do. :lol It is five days until my next cake is due...I'm chopping at the bit already. icon_biggrin.gif

sleep deprived like the rest of you.
