Ok here is a pic of what is supposed to be the coca cola polar bear sitting on an iceberg...any ideas on how I could of made it look more like an iceberg? I made this cake for Dh's b day today, he is a huuuuuuuuuge coke fan..
Not exactly what I envisioned, but overall I am happy with it...
Thanks to MelC for all her help with the polar bear...it is fondant covered in royal icing... buttercream on the rest of the cake...
thanks for looking..
Hi Charleydog!
I think your cake is adorable! I have two ideas that would make it more iceburg-like. 1st would be to carve the cake into an irregular shape, more like a broken chunk. 2nd I would add a tiny bit of blue tint to the frosting in a few spots.
In all honesty, I think it's great just how it is though. Plenty of the Coca-Cola ads show the bear enjoying a cold one just sitting on the snow too! I know your DH will love it!!
Thanks guys!!
Momsandraven---those are great ideas!!! Thanks so much!! I never even thought about doing an irregular shape ( I have never done any carving before) Thanks!!!
Hey charley....what about using the wondermold pan to get a base for the berg and then carve from there????
Thanks, it needs some work...however this is the first cake I ever thought of on my own, not just using instructions from a book...its weird how it looks perfect in your head !!! LOL
You guys are fantastic!!! Thanks so much... I need some classes in creativity LOL
are you kidding? have you seen some of your cakes? need classes, thats a riot. cakes4you stole my idea... I was going to say try using the wonder mold and then cut it so it looks choppy like an iceberg.
great cake i love the bear.
Charleydog!!!! That is too cute!!! You did a great job. I don't think you need to change a thing...I bet your husband is going to have a fit over it!!!!
..that is terrific! I love it!
You could use the rock sugar ...I think that is what it is called..it looks like chunks of ice!
rock sugar....I'll have to keep an eye out for that!! Thanks so much for the kind words all of you!!!!!
