Hi Everyone! I need a chocolate layer cake recipe for two 8 inch round cake pans. I am sorry for such a short notice, but I need the recipe asap. Thank you so much.
There is a good scratch cake recipe on the back of the Hershey's cocoa container!
Hershey's "Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate Cake
2 c. sugar
1-3/4c. All purpose flour
3/4 c. Hershey's Cocoa (powder)
1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. milk
1/2 c. vegetable oil
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. boiling water
Preheat oven to 350*
Grease & flour two 9" round pans. Combie dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla on medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin) Pour into pans and bake 30-35minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pans to wire racks. Cool completely before frosting

That is THE best chocolate cake recipe Mrs. Missey! The first time you make it you think "this will never work" because the batter is so thin, but what a cake it produces. Yummy!!!
..I agree about the consistency..it's almost watery but you're right, it produces a fantastic cake!
Hi Everyone! Thank you so much for your search in a chocolate recipe. I'll go with the Hershey's Perfectly Chocolate Cake, thank you MrsMissey. Thanks again to everyone for your efforts. I'm now off to the baking and let you know how it turns out.
The avatar is through the kindness and genius of Lisa. Thanks!
