All you should need to do is cover it with fondant, then use your dresden (veining) tool (has a flattened pointy tip on one end) to mark out your grid. If you don't have a dresden tool, maybe you can use the non-brush end of a small artist's brush. Good luck!

How long would it take it take to dry? Or are you suggesting covering cake with fondant?

I misunderstood - I thought the igloo was going to be cake covered with fondant. If you're just making a shell out of fondant, mix in some gum-tex so it dries faster & harder. Then roll it out to around 1/4". I personally would cover the pan with saran wrap to make sure it comes off without breaking. How long it takes to dry will depend on a lot of things, including humidity and how much gum-tex you put in the fondant, but putting it in front of a fan will help. It will take a couple of days minimum.
