Apron. I forgot to change out of the old tshirt I was wearing one day while baking. I left the house with chocolate specks here there and everywhere.

No apron at home. When I was a P-chef consultant, I always wore an apron. I never bake in my 'good' clothes though or in anything white!

For me, I don't think an apron would do-maybe a hazmat suit! I make such a mess of myself-icing on my face, clothes, arms, everywhere!!!

Apron. DH got me one that is personalized with my nickname from Williams Sonoma last year for Christmas. I also like it because if I am leaning over a cake, I don't have to worry about my shirt brushing up against it. LOVE my apron!!

I don't wear one, but only because I don't have one. I definitely need it though!! It's on my Christmas list, so hopefully Santa will think I've been good enough! LOL

Depends....somedays (just normal baking....sure)

but icing day...fugghedabbadit!.....like it would stop the icing going everywhere so on those days were old t-shirt and pants set aside just for being a rainbow of colors.

Definitely an apron....I have three. One I wear mixing and baking, one I wear decorating, and one I wear just for delivery and set up of wedding cakes! Without them, everyone I know would think I wear frosting full time!

I have 2...one is from Martha Stewart, buttons in the back with two slanted pockets up front...looks more like a "house frock" than an apron. I wear it while cleaning, doing laundry (keeps the lint off me!), cooking/baking in general. I even accidentally wore it out of the house once to go pick up my son from preschool!!! HA! icon_lol.gificon_redface.gif Didn't even realize it until I walked into the school & the director said something about what a great apron!! lol She, and some other moms who stopped me along the way to the classroom, commented on how it looked like it could've been part of my outfit...lol. Thanks Martha!! lol icon_wink.gif

The other one is a Cake Central apron!!! YAYYY!! Love it too! I use it to do all of my assembly & decorating on cakes. It's white, so if I get a dark or brightly colored icing on it, I can just use the bleach pen and it comes right out. Though, the last few times I've used it & gotten icing on it, I haven't washed it right away, so there are a few red, black, blue, purple stains on it from my last couple of cakes... icon_sad.gif Hey...when it gets really covered in icing stains I'll post a picture!!! hehehehe icon_lol.gificon_razz.gif We should all do that!! And when it's all covered with the icing stains, we could take a black sharpie and write ADDICT on it!! HA! The apron would be proof that we're addicted! lol icon_lol.gifthumbs_up.gif

I have two aprons, that my italian grandmother hand sewed, she wore them for as long as I can remember. When she passed away I got them because I'm considered the cook in the family. I wear them all the time, for cleaning, cookking decorating etc.. And every time I put them on it reminds me of my sweet grandmother!

I do not use an apron but I end up using tons of paper towels all the time, so it might be cheaper if I just get an apron??

No apron here either. For Christmas, I would love one with my childrens handprints on it, but dh wouldn't know how to catch a clue if it hit him in the head.

well, speaking for all the DM*.....you're right -- we don't catch clues....(part of that Mars/Venus thing)....

so just flat out tell us!

or use my mom's trick from when I was a kid/teen.... she'd call Aunt Irene who worked in the store where I usually went (and often got me to go there for sure by making sure I had some package/note/message to give her) and told her what I should buy. So in I waltz and say "any ideas, Aunt Irene?" and guess what -- i got the right gift every time! icon_rolleyes.gif
