I have 2 cakes 11 x 15 iced in buttercream, decorated in the same all ready to go for their delivery tomorrow (I just finished them now)

How do I keep them fresh? Can i just put the decorated cakes in their boxes and they should be good? If I wrap them in plastic wrap - the decorations will get goofed up.

Do I refrigerate them? My garage is currently cold - Live in IL, we have SNOW. I can put them in their boxes and put them in there.

Please help - not sure how to keep these cakes til tomorrow.

Thanks
Janet

As long as your house isn't about 80 degrees, your cakes will be fine in the box... they'll be just as fresh as when you made them.. the buttercream seals out the moisture/air and keeps the cake fresh. icon_smile.gif

They will be fine in their cake boxes. If you do use the garage, make sure little bugs can't get in.

If it were me, I would just keep them in the house.

Wonderful - so if I put them in their boxes, the decorations would stay okay! It won't get hard as a rock?

Thank you sooo much!

I would definitely keep them in the house. Your garage is probably the same temp as you refrigerator. The last time I put an iced cake in the fridge it either got condensation or it was sweating.
