I saw the cake you just posted, LOVE IT!! Would you kndly share your recipes, please??? I think you said it was white choc cake, white choc filling, and eggnog IMBC. I am positively drooling. Also, did you just tint the bc mint green? I didn't know you could color IMBC. Thanks so much!

Enjoy!!

I made IMBC the other day and tinted it pink and it took the color well and was a dream to use for writing!

Hi Lenette!!!!

The link above will take you to the recipe variations I came up with using Sarah's Ultimate Butter Cake. They are so yummy!! Thanks for posting dodibug!

I colored my IMBC with mint green americolor soft gel paste. I use only americolor and it works great! I am normally not a fan of the Lorann oils, but I put 3 drops or so of the Egg Nog flavored one in the IMBC, and it was DELICIOUS!!

For the filling I was making some white chocolate regular bc but decided to use egg nog instead of the milk. I add a bit less powdered sugar so it would be softer and made it a filling instead. It was yummy too!!

Let me know if I can help any more!

Berta

Thank goodness! I thought I was the only one who wasn't a huge fan but looking at your results with the IMBC I think that may be the key. I've tried to use it in my regular bc and just don't really taste the flavors but maybe because the IMBC is lighter it takes the flavor better!?! I have to experiment now!!!

Hi dodibug,

I bought a ton of the opils before trying them because every1 raves about them, but I never really liked them. The egg nog one is good, and you are right in the IMBC the flavor is better. That is the only thing I use them in, and only certain flavors. I made the IMBC from WBH and added 3 drops and got a nice light egg nog taste. How much you add will depend on your taste buds! Let me know what flavors you try out!

Berta,
How would you describe this butter cake? The pic of it on her site has such looks like Jiffy cornbread. Is the cake light or something you would use for a carved cake? TIA

ok, I'm going to ask a really dumb question, because my brain is not working today, but what is IMBC? I know the BC is buttercream, but I'm drawing a blank on the IM part. icon_confused.gificon_redface.gif

The buttercake is very dense and moist. Nothing like cornbread at all. More like a poundcake, but maybe not quite as dense. I have never carved with it.

HTH,
