Any photographers out there? What are best ways to get the most professional looking photos of my cakes. I want to make the most of the work I have done and not have a cake just sitting on the kitchen counter. I did use a tablelecloth behind one, but I need more suggestions.

I went to WalMart and got some sheer fabric. When I really start taking pictures, I drape it around my coffee table, and use tacs to pin it to the wall. I also bought some silk and did the same thing. They look fabulous!

Hope this helps!!

I cut up a box so it had 3 sides. It ended up looking like a backboard to a science fair project. Then I just drape a sheet over my table and the backboard. Just be careful so it doesn't tip onto your cake. It hasn't happened to me yet but it is always in the back of my mind.

I can't help with anything else because I setup and DH takes the pics. Sorry.

Use zoom lens so you can get as close to the cake as possible...and take your pictures in daylight . You get the best picture, no flash! If you need amore help pm me.

I have a window on one side of my kitchen bench and a door on the other. Both have curtains, so i grab a sheet and i peg it up about 3 feet up the curtain on each side. I then position my cake with this background and take a picture. Here are some pictures taken like that, that i then edited with photoshop.
I think this method works well. If you have a satin sheet or a chiffon material, this would look even prettier.

all I have to add to what everyone said is take pictures of all diffrent sides and angles of the cake, once you download them you 'll see which one looks the best.
