I'm just curious how you all keep up with your orders? Do you use a computer, handwritten calendar or what?

I write everything down in an appointment book. I have a month-at-a-glance book, so when I open it up, I can see what I have for everyday of the month. When someone calls for a cake and if I have that date filled with notes, I have some blank pages to write on in the back of the calendar. I numbered my pages and I will write in the bottom of the day "see page __ in notes" which is where I write my notes about what flavor cake, icing, etc. This works well for me. I would love to have so much to do that I could open a full-time business and do it all on a computer icon_smile.gif some day!

I have made up "order forms" that I have on a clipboard and I fill in all the info on them. Then I also put their name in a separate calendar so I can keep track of the delivery dates

I have a cake calendar where I mark the due date and the date to make the cake then I also have a cake notebook where I write all the details and do my sketches for that cake.

I made a order form where I have all important information (name, tel. #. PU time and Date, flavor, size, filling, etc.). Its like my references incase I ever have to look back at what people ordered and how much it costs. Works wonderful for me. I also have this same form on my computer just in case my son destroys my cake book.

What a GREAT backup plan....with little ones you always have to be prepared!

Yeah because I have a binder that I keep all my Cake things in. I have pictures of all the cakes I've made, Characters pictures in alphabetical order in case I have order for a child, cakes that I draw out for "Specific Orders", a calculator for giving customers their price right away, receipts, and on the front of the binder I have a copy of my menu with serving sizes for a quick reference. So far in only a few months, I have had to replace both my menu on the front and my receipts. He has drawn all over it. So thats why I started keeping track of orders on the computer.
