I just got a huge order for cookies icon_biggrin.gif , 100 cookies. Then reality set in and now all of the questions icon_cry.gif . Since this is for 100 decorated cookies, does anyone know off hand how many batches I will need? I'm using the snowman cutter from wilton. It looks like 5-6"??? long. I know the no fail sugar cookies says 5 dozen, but I think that is smaller cookies. So I'm not sure how many this will yeild Also, how thick should I roll these cookies? Any help will be appreciated.

The last time I made sugar cookies, the directions said the batter would be enough for 8 dozen and I think I about 3!! That was using the Wilton Wedding Cake cutter...so make lots, you can freeze it if you have some left over!
Good luck!!

I just made some cookies (trees, stars, bells and diamonds) the trees were5-6 inches long and all the rest were 3-4" long. All together I made around 40 cookies. These were pretty thick cookies too. This was only a single batch of cookies. I would make a batch and gauge from there.
Sorry I could be of more help.

How thick did you roll out the cookies?

I made a single batch of the no fail sugar cookie dough and last night was able to cut out over 58 (that's what I kept). I did eat a few and a few were too brown, so probably total I had about 65. I used a snowflake cutter that is 3.5" in diameter. I think you would be safe with 2 1/2 batches of the dough.

I will agree with thyterrell...I made a 1/2 batch the other day and got 38 1/4" thick, 3-4" in diameter cookies. So a whole batch would make close to 60 3-4" cookies.
