I haven't done sesame seeds, but when I did strawberry seeds I just used icing.

I know there's sesame seed candy out there. You can usually find it in middle-eastern markets. It's pretty much like peanut brittle except with sesame seeds instead of nuts. I wonder if you could find some (I would think it would be fairly easy in NYC) if it would break into just candy-coated sesame seeds.

I think you could use them as is. They don't really have a taste. More of a texture and look. If you wanted to though, you could use white jimmies.

If you are making mini ones I am thinking that you could just you white non-perils and sprinkle them on the top bun.

Thanks for the reply....the sesame candies are soooo yummy....they are readily available here but they don't break up....they are sesame seeds and honey and they're pretty gooey.......

I'm going to experiment with all three ideas.....thanks guys!!!!

Ooohhh...I just had an idea.....maybe I'll take my eyelet cutter and cut out brown fondant pieces....hmmmm...they might be too big, but I'll give it a shot....they are the right shape....

How about just taking little tiny pieces of colored fondant and shaping the seeds with your fingers and flatten?

I used icing - kind of a light tan color - for my cheeseburger cake.
