Do not have time to search, but does anyone have a picture/pattern or anything that shows how to do a Christmas Tree out of cupcakes? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...doing it tonight and never done a cupcake cake before...HELP! icon_cry.gif

I saw it done in the Sweet Dreams TV show.

She used a styrofoam shaped like a cone. Then she baked mini cupcakes, iced them in white icing, and then covered them with green sprinkles.

She then placed toothpicks,one at a time, in the stryrofoam cone starting from the bottom, and then inserted the bottom of the cupcake into the toothpick, so that the top of the cupcake covered with sprinkles is facing outward....

It was really cool.

Here is a link to the step by step. It is not difficult. She used chocolate cake recipe for the cupcakes, but I you could use any flavor.

how about using a sugar cone (ice cream cone) for the base of the christmas tree.

I know this is late, but I guess for future ideas....

If you want to do a cupcake cake, then I'd start with one cupcake on the top of the board, then do two below it, three and so on, forming a triangle. I'd use a cupcake or two on the bottom to form the trunk.
