I saw a show last night that I am sure will repeat, on a Gingerbread decorating contest (held in Ashville, NC) It was so much fun to watch! There is another show on this sunday on holiday cakes. If you didn't catch this and get the food network, check them out! I got so many neat ideas!

I saw that show last night. There were some AMAZING creations there. The little girl that won the youth contest (the youngest contestants) is from my home town of Easley, SC.

I would love to learn...or have the patience, to do something like that.

I loved that show, there were so many beautiful entries, but the winner was my favorite. She did deserve it.

The lady who had the gingerbread house with the different countries. The carousel horse didn't even place...kinda sad...it was a very nice gingerbread house.

I watched the show and was amazed how passionate the people were about gingerbread houses. I liked the ones that still resembled gingerbread. Some were so full of gumpaste decorations that you could not even see the gingerbread. Kinda defeats the purpose.

I loved the sisters that made the Harry Potter house. They were just so happy to be there and happy for each other. icon_smile.gif

I was surprised they just didn't have the little kids do gingerbread men so their parents wouldn't take over the projects. Oh, well. Still one of the most interesting shows I've seen on food network this fall.

I saw that show.
All are superb.
I am also sad for that carousel house couple.
They will surely win next time.

I also loved the winner. It was very clean looking on top of amazingly creative. Could you imagine....out of 300 some odd. I think it would be so neat to do something like that. I barely have time to do cakes. I couldn't imagen coming up with enough time to do one of those.... 200+ hours...HA!

the more I see the repeats, the more I'm mad at the Mom who's daughter won the youth category. It's clear that the child didnt' do much if anything. She's WAY too young! Ok, so maybe by some wild circumstance, there's an actual Gingerbread prodigy out there that's less than 5 years old, but I doubt it.

As obnoxious as the pink was to me (a guy obviously), I think the girl who did the princess house should have won youth. Clearly she did her own work, or most of it anyway.

I liked the youth and adult category winners just fine, but then, we didn't see every entry either.

oh God, I'm a food network contest Junkie! UGH!
