I'm going to make some christmas cookies. I have the no fail sugar cookies recipe, but I'm not about the icing and coloring it. Can I use the wilton colors or is the something special for tinting the cookie icing? Also, can you add flavors the dough or color it? What would be the best way to do that? Please help me....

For the royal icing, you just use the same colors that you would for any other icing - it will work fine.

As far as using flavorings and color in the cookie recipe, the No Fail Sugar Cookie recipe calls for 2 tsp of vanilla or almond flavoring. That's the amount I've always used and they've turned out fine. But if you want a stronger flavor, I think you could add just a little bit more without hurting anything. I think you should be able to color your dough using icing colors without any problem too. I have used it with a different recipe and it turned out fine.
