Okay this is the only place I could tell my secret with out gettin laughed at.
Tonight I decorated.....my big silver mixing bowl.

I know, I'm an a bc junkie, a piping fool, an icing addict!

But what was I going to do, my last Wilton class is over and I have all this bc in the fridge. My family can't eat another cake and I have a 'jones' to practice my new skills. So, I flipped my mixing bowl over and proceeded to do my string work, ruffles, and reverse shells. It was prettier than my final cake last week. icon_lol.gif

When I was finished, I just scraped it all off, washed the bowl and smiled knowing that my hips aren't going to be any bigger in the morning.

Haha....I found a way to make my cake and not eat it too. icon_rolleyes.gif

I am content now.

They kept coming back for more. icon_lol.gif

How do you do it? I have three girls. I was pretty organized and together until I had the third, now I'm a SCATTER BRAIN. Seriously, I think that was, is, a bigger adjustment than having the first!! Maybe it's because there all girls, my husband just sits there and they walk right by him, "mom....."

Wow, 7 kids. You are so brave. I have three and sometimes i feel i am 1 step away from the nervous breakdown. icon_wink.gif

I tried to decorate last week an empty shoebox. I was practicing to make my own fondant I sadly made too little so never really finished it.

No laughing out of me...I practice on the bottom of my cake pans but it doesn't help my waistline. I usually eat the frosting icon_smile.gif My kids love it when I pipe on their fingers too!

Yaayyyy, another cakey that hasn't taken that leap of faith yet! I noticed the "74" in your screen name so I just assumed that to be your birth year...if so, ME TOO! Yep, 31 years old and counting and still no babies. Something wierd is going on in my body right now and I could be pregnant but really not ready to take a test! Boy, I don't know what I'm going to do if I don't get to take my naps anymore. I'm addicted to them more than I am cakes!! icon_cry.gificon_lol.gif

Just like many of you I do my decorating after 8 pm when the little ones are in bed.

My children range from 15 years to just turning one this week. The older ones are extremely helpful. We are a close family since we homeschool and are around each other all day. Means we have to get along or be miserable. We choose to get along and it is awesome. icon_smile.gif

I always say, when asked how I manage with a large family, that the babies came one at a time so I had time to adjust to each addition. Seven at one time....that would killed me. icon_lol.gif

7 kids....I couldn't ever do that! I have a 4 year old daughter and sometimes I don't think I can handle her!!! My husband and I are real smart a**es and she's already picking up some of her own! She's a little spitfire.

Fytar you are right! I am 31. All my friends are partnered/married with kids and it just takes one BBQ with them all to remind me why I am not a mother yet.

My husband says he is "allergic"!

I'm the youngest of the kids in our family and DYING to be an Auntie though!! There's something fantastic about buying them gifts like loud toys or an excess of candy....hahaha (evil laugh!!) icon_evil.gif Even my brother's wife is one of 9!!!!

I'm so not ready yet. Heck, I'm still impressed I get to stay up late! icon_lol.gif

icon_lol.gif Better watch out....later moms have better chances of having multiples! icon_lol.gif I should know! I was 33 in 2003 when I found out I was pregnant with my 3 girls...and I wouldn't have it any other way! And yes, they were completely out of the blue! icon_lol.gif

Oh my gosh! I am so glad I'm not alone! That's funny, I'm the baby of five kids and have lots of nieces and nephews. Who needs their own when they got that many they can send back when they get tired of them?! icon_eek.gif I also have blamed them for my lack of excitement over being a mom.

I also know what you mean about how fun it is to give the kids something that drives my siblings crazy! Matter of fact, one niece is 10 and she is very creative and artsy...likes the bohemian skirts and hippy clothes...and she has wanted some cake decorating stuff so that she can one day grow up and become partners with me! Well, my sister wouldn't let her have that kind of stuff, saying, "she won't clean up after herself and I'm not letting her mess up my kitchen!" So, what does the sweet aunt do? I bought her a Wilton Course I kit and book and some cans of Wilton pre-made icing for this Christmas! She'll love it and my sister will probably not talk to me for a few weeks! thumbs_up.gif

Watch out!! Payback is a __#$__*!!! I was the last to have kids outta my 5 siblings. I always thought it was funny to give the gifts from HE$$, than their kids were grown up (somewhat) and I had mine and I am getting it ten fold!!! I just cringe at birthdays and x mas knowing I will be getting "my turn" again and again.

I have 4 kids (sorda, not all mine, but we have a very blended family) and I say after 2 any more additions doesn't really matter!! The jump from 1 to 2 was the biggest one!!

Me too! Going from 1 to 2 was the hardest for me. After that, it's pretty much chaos no matter how many more additions icon_smile.gif Still I can't even imagine 7 or more. That's nearly double what I have icon_eek.gif My parents come from big families though. DD is one of 8 and DM is one of 11! Family get togethers are wonderful with huge families.

tripletmom, o my goodness, do you have other kids? That must have been rough! They must be about two now, right, so your headed for better days! Are they potty trained yet? My littlest is 28 months, no luck yet. I AM SO TIRED OF DIAPERS.

I used to give loud gifts to my neices as well...and yes, as charleydog said, payback is a -----! My sis in law has made it point to get her revenge! Oh well, it's all in fun!

vitade, you are right they are 2 1/2 right now and to be honest, I was waaaay lucky with my girls. I did most of the stuff myself meaning that no one moved in and my hubby still worked 12 hour days and slept his nights. I guess my girls knew I was an army of 1 and took it easy on me.icon_lol.gif
I would feed 2 of them on either side of me on our loveseat with the 3rd one in her bouncy seat with a propped bottle. I got so that I could have them fed, changed and back into bed within 45 mins! I would do it all again in a heartbeat!

And yes, I also have 2 stepchildren, 14 and 10 years old and they love to help when they do come. My girls ADORE my 14 yearold step-daughter, they run screaming to her when she comes. Still working on the pottey-training thing but we are taking our time, I kinda like the predictability of diapers. Heck, they grow more and more independant every day, I'm just trying to enjoy everything while I still can! icon_lol.gif

I know the feeling, lol. Sometimes, WHEN I talk to adults I don't think I care if they are listening or not. Yeah, the beginning of potty training is hard. Especially when you go out somewhere like the grocery store. The bathroom is always on the other side of the store and you CAN'T say hold it for a minute. O, the worst is being at the checkout after waiting inline and your stuff is already on the belt and she says "I gotta go potty" AHHH!!

I noticed in one of your posts here you said you don't know what you'd do if you didn't get to take your naps anymore. Well, for the first 2 or 3 years you will definitely be able to nap when they nap. Also, newborns sleep 18 hours a day. You will get plenty of rest. Just a thought

I've got twin boys who are 10 now, but I certainly NEVER got to nap when they did, until they were about 2 or 3. They only slept for 30 minutes at a time and at the time, I was so exhausted that I would have never gotten up in 30 minutes time! I have to say that I've gotten really use to my naps again and take one almost every single day that I don't work, for about an hour and get really upset if something messes that up!

My mom says she still looks when someone in the store yells "mom" as if it's me or my brother. lol (probably getting ready to beg for something) O, the good old days! It still amazes me EVERYTIME at the end of the shopping trip my little one rides the penny pony, and the look on her face... I wish things could always stay that simple.

Heehee, yes you still look when someone calls Mom, even when your children are adults, I don't know, it just sticks with you.
Children still like the things we grew up with, some things don't change! I suppose it gives us comfort that they don't!
