How would you create lace and feathers to wrap around a cake? My neighbor asked me to make a cake for her Red Hat group and I found a picture of a beautiful hat I'd like to recreate. I'm planning on covering it in fondant, but I haven't decided how to make the lace and feathers. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Since its fondant, why not use real feathers and lace. You might be able to find something at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. Then when they cut the cake, they can use remove them.
