okay cc friends, i did my craft show yesterday. i've done this one three times before, but never got any calls. people ohhhed and awwed over display cakes, and took a card, but never called.
this time i made a really cute display cake with fondant raindeer sliding down a hill (idea totally swiped from one of my cc friends, will check later to credit the right one) anyway i made ahuge sign that said enter for my drawing to win a free birthday cake up to $50.00. i then left a spot on entry form for them to list their families birthdays. i told them that i would call them on the birthday months and offer my services and offer a discount. they were really excited about the discount, and i was really excited about getting their names and numbers!!!! i got about 160 names and birthday list for both craft shows.
also, i found a chefs hat at hobby lobby that said "north pole culinary" it was so cute, and got peoples attention, since my booth was around the corner and hard to see.
also, i made 2 different cake balls, i called them cake truffles, and the people went nuts!!!!!! they bought me out!!! later, when things slowed down at the end of the day, i walked around wiht my cool hat on, and offered the rest of my samples to the other craft venders and passed out my cards. the loved them!!!!! some of them said "we've been hearing about you all day" people have been talking about your cakes and your samples. man, that felt great!!! this time i took my portfolio.
(i didnt have one in the past) anyway, i got an 8x8 scrapbook and just put my cake pictures in it. people loved looking at it, and they could see what i can do. you guys all need to do that!!
so, i want to thank you all for your advice and help!!!!! i appreciated it!!!
i feel like i am really fixen' to get busy!!! which is much needed since hubby hurt back at work and we are fighting with workmans comp. quack doctor.

okay, i need to give credit to "mommykicksbutt" for her cake that i got my idea from. her cake is so cute! i'll post mine later, when hubby feels better, bad back right now...he uploads pictures for me. anyway my cake has the hill and rudolf the raindeer is slidding down the hill, and so is his raindeer friends, one is on his back. it was so fun to make!!
