So, my sister and I took a cake decorating course, and tonight we made our first "real" cake - for someone, not just to practice with...
What do you think?
(...oh and don't mind the toothpicks... )
this is a close up of the middle...
With the super close up, now I notice little holes, but you can't really see them when you are looking at the cake...
To prevent the "holes" here is a tip for next time. Flat ice with the color that you are going to use for the stars...that way if there are any holes all you see is the same color not the cake...simple right?
As far as the cake goes, you and your sister did a wonderful job!
It must be great to share your hobby with a loved one!
The cake is beautiful. I remeber when I did myfirst star cake. It was a teletubbie cake for my dd. It took me FOREVER and same thing, you could see the cake underneath. But she loved it and you know what, so did I. I was very proud of all my hard work. Keep up the good work!
Really cute! Great job! I love that little pan-I need to get it next time they are on sale at Micheal's.
Very cute!! I always wanted a sister that I could bake with and do things with but I had 5 brothers and no sisters. Now I have a daughter after having 3 boys and I can't wait till she is old enough so we can bake and shop together.
Love your cake!!, ~Denise
