Does anyone have a recipe similar to the fat, soft sugar cookies from the grocery store (I've even seen them at Super Walmart). I love these cookies and the icing that coats them, but haven't a clue about the recipe.

Are you talking about the Lofthouse ones...I think that's the name of them. Those ARE good!

Hi Pinkflamingo.

I'm not sure what the Walmart cookies taste like but the recipe a lot of folks use on this site is the "No Fail Sugar Cookie" recipe. It's a soft almost shortbread texture and works great with cookie cutters. If you go to the home page of this site and look under the cake thumbnails, you'll see "Latest Recipes" underneath. It's the last recipe.

I must say, I looked at your quincenera cake and WOW, it is just beautiful. Your roses look like silk roses. Really terrific. thumbs_up.gif

I have a recipe that has passed down in my family for generations, which makes a fat, soft sugar cookie. Send me a pm and I can email it to you if you would like it. Thanks!
