I just was there checking them out. I must say there is some great talent out there! I love the Grand Prize Winner cake!

Wow....those are certainly a far cry from last year's entries!! They are spectacular!....
Sadly....I didn't win anything.....oh well......
BUT...did you see the lighthouse cake? How eerily similar that lighthouse is to mine (although I like my cake better) hee hee

Any winners part of our familia?

I entered too. But no cigar. But the entries were spectacular weren't they. Guess we all are gonna have to step it up a notch, huh.

Thanks Jackie!

The winners are much better this year. Maybe it's because the prize was bigger and it attracted more entries?

Pretty cakes. But I am sad to see so much emphasis on fondant. I prefer buttercream cakes.

A lot of people prefer buttercream but I think fondant allows for endless creative techniques that you just can't do with buttercream. These contests are all visual, after all.

Nobody knows what they taste like or even if they are cakes at all.

I entered too but didn't place.

Adven, I thought the same thing. They don't know if its a real cake. Oh well, maybe we'll have better luck next time.
