Has anyone ordered ingredients from Honeyville? They're prices seem reasonable and their shipping is only $5. They sell in large quantities so I'm hoping someone else can give a recommendation before I commit to 50 lbs of flour.

Sorry, not familiar with them! Haha, yes that is a lot of flour but I can easily go through 30 pounds at Christmas and that is just for friends and family!

Mary-Ann,

Do u have a BJ's, Sam's or Costco nearby? 50lbs of all purpose flour there is usually less than $10...I even bought a 25lb bag at Walmart for less than $5

Wow! $30 for a 50 lb. bag of flour is really expensive!! icon_eek.gif Sam's Club has them for about $10, give or take, depending on the brand you want.

Wow, I've never seen 50 lb bags of AP flour at BJs so I'll have to ask. I already buy eggs, vanilla & butter there so it would be great to get it all at one stop.

I've only been able to find cake flour in 2 lb boxes at my local grocery but I was hoping to find it locally in bulk too. Have you seen it at BJ's or Walmart?

Thanks so much for your advice.

Cake Flour I have not seen but definitely the sll purpose. I buy my cake flour at a bakery supply. It is $12 for 50#. Look in your area to see if there are some wholesale bakery supply places that will let you buy it

Well my BJs only carries 10 lb bags of AP flour so I'll have to keep looking. How do I find a wholesale distributor that will sell retail?

Do an internet search for bakery wholesale or bakery supply in your town or in larger towns nearby. Then call them and see what they are willing to do. Some places will sell to you even at wholesale prices but they will have an order minimum of $100. You might be able to get other things at a good price. I buy Adam's Extracts for $10-15 for a galllon!!!

HTH,
Berta
