You're right, regular fondant does smell/taste like a protein bar. Have you ever tried marshmallow fondant? I had limited experience with the regular stuff (not good experience, my family hated it!), but then switched to MMF thanks Cake Central. I love this website!

Thank you all for the words of encouragement...My partner took the cake to work with him this morning, and he said he got such a crowd in his cube, that they had to move the cake to a table of his own. He said one of his coworkers offered to buy that cake...LOL...I would not sell that Wiltons fondant to ANYONE! LOL

you said it. that stuff's terrible! i just use it for decoration. i tell my customers what it is but not to eat it!! maybe when i find the time, i'll make up some mmf!

Hi, Mochaboi! I think that the your cake was so cute. And I know what you mean about the fondant! I agree with Diane about using the Wiltons' for decorations only. I made a batch of the MMF yesterday and it was fabulous(both in cost and taste)! I would recommend the MMF to everyone. It is the best thing since....CAKE!! LOL Happy Baking!!
