has anyone tried to make a christmas tree cake with the wonder mold pan? i thought about making one & decorating it like the christmas tree cones on the tutorial. any advice?

I haven't done it, but that sounds like a really good idea! Are you going to make smaller round cakes to look like the tree trunk?

I haven't but I think it would work well. I made a christmas tree using the 3D Wilton pan. I made it from rice krispie treat mix and airbrushed it green then used it as a cake topper. It was easy and looked a lot like a christmas tree.

llee815, i haven't thought of that. that would be a great idea. i can't wait to try it.
rice krispie cake topper sound yum... my two favorite things!

Me too! I wasn't sure about airbrushing it. I was afraid the color might not stick and run off but it didn't. You could even use the canned sprays.

i dont think little cakes would work as the trunk...the rest of the cake is just going to cave ...

It could work if she used Rice Krispy Treats. They're sturdier than regular cakes.
