Cake Batter For Multiple Pans - Help I Need Some Info

Want to try this recipe fro multiple pan. It calls for 4 sticks of butter. But I do not know what a stick is.

One stick is 1/2 cup or 8 tablespoons.

1 stick is equal to 1/2 cup butter.

1 stick of butter is 4 oz. or 8 tablespoons or 1/2 cup. In the US a pound of butter is packaged into 4 sticks.
