i am just wondering, why cookie boquets are so Hot. what do people usually buy thme for, birthdays?? then I can understnad.
just curious.. its very un known where I live!
Birthdays and any holiday, Cookie Bouquets are a great gift and everyone seems to love them. Have you looked at the many pictures of them here at CC? Once you start viewing them you will know what is so special about them. I made one for my daughter, husband, and 4 neighbor kids next door for Valentine's day and they were all thrilled. You can see pics of them in my photo album. They are a lot of fun to make...........although they do take some time......making cutout cookies, decorating them, then assembling the bouquet. But, it is very rewarding and fun! Give one a try and you'll see for yourself.
They have them for all sorts of things. Where someone would send flowers they send cookies instead. Like congratulations, teachers, graduates, anniversaries, holidays etc...
The possibility's are endless
Hope this helps

What all do you need to do one of these? I love them and think my little old ladies would love them also.
You need assorted cookie cutters to fit your theme of the bouquet.
Container for the bouquet.
A piece of styrofoam to fit down in the container.
Assorted curling ribbon cut in 6 to 8 inch lengths.
1 clear plastic treat bag for each cookie.
Cookie/lollipop sticks. 1 for each cookie.
Colored craft tissue paper to match theme, cut into 3 and 4 inch squares. I double the thickness.
Make a batch of sugar cookie dough. Cut out cookies, insert sticks and bake them accordingly. Decorate each cookie with Royal Icing, fondant, rolled buttercream, chocolate, or a combination of these. Allow decorated cookies to dry completely. Place each cookie in a clear plastic treat bag and secure with ribbon or colored twist ties, or both. I leave at least 6 inches of ribbon flowing from each cookie stick.
For the bouquet assembly;
Place styrofoam into bouquet container. You may have to cut styrofoam to fit. I stuff decorative shredded crinkle paper around styrofoam to secure it and make it a tight fit in the container. Push a cookie through the middle of a doubled tissue square and bring the tissue as far up the stick as you can without breaking the cookie. Insert the cookie stick into your styrofoam. Repeat this until you have a full bouquet of cookies.
All of these supplies can be found at any Michael's, Hobby Lobby, or other craft store. Walmart carries most all of these items now too.
There are other ways to make cookie bouquets and you can see the varieties by looking through the photos here at CC. The above method is just the way I prefer to make them but is certainly not the only way to make them.
Hope I didn't leave anything out!
If you have ever received a cookie bouquet, you'll know why they are so fun! They are really attractive and so creative and yummy! We get them at my work once in a while and they really brighten a day.
I've made them for my daughter's preschool teachers and they just adore them! For the last day of school, I had my daughter decorate the flower pots with a tile mosaic and then filled the pots with flower cookies (in my photos). The teachers loved them and they got to keep the pot handmade by my daughter too.
I personally hate flowers, they seem so silly. they just die. A cookie bouquet is the same thing... but you can EAT IT! So it now has function
