Cookie kits for loot bags

My dd is having her 6th birthday party this weekend. Instead of the usual goody bag dollar store toys, I'm making gingerbread cookie kits. I'm putting in one big(8") boy or girl cookie and a 4" tree. I'll put in a small container or royal icing, some red and green smarties and sprinkles. Should I put anything else in there? I may get some plates from the dollar store to put the cookies on(if they have some).
Would your kids like this or prefer the little toys?

I think that is a great idea my kids would love it (especially since they know "we only get the broken ones"). DId you say if you would be putting in some icing? Maybe put the icing in a freezer bag with instructions to the parent to cut the corner to make a small hole for icing. Also maybe some m & m's.

What a great idea! I have to remember to do that when my daughter gets a bit older.
