I hear all around people baking in cans and shoe boxes. But what are some other odd cake pans others have used?
My mom baked each of her kids' 1st birthday cake in a 5 in. diameter Crisco can that she had cut down to about 2 in. high. We each had our "own" cake to smear everywhere--oops, I meant "to eat"!!! (Gosh, did I just tell my age? The cans are all cardboard now!)
We've still got that "pan" & I've even used it to bake the top layer on one of my parents' anniversary cakes.
Got me....I haven't tried it, but it would certainly be similar...I'd just watch them like a hawk! LOL
Bakersofcakes.........when you use the tuna cans....it is almost the same temp and timing of a muffin...I make banana bread and large muffins in the tuna cans...they are also great for any leftover cake batter.
Hope this helps
Debbie
I walked in on my grandmother who was baking..in her underwear. I thought that was a pretty odd thing....to bake in.
It also scarred me for life.
OMG, Dale!!!!! That is the most hilarious thing. At least it didn't scar you from baking.
