Did I Get A Good Deal On This Kitchenaid?

I got a KitchenAid KV25GOXWW Professional 5 Plus 5-Quart Stand Mixer for $265 & free shipping on eBay New In Box - not refurbished. (MSRP is $399 & Amazon sells for $299 but I've recently had HORRIBLE shipping experiences w/Amazon). It's the 5 qt, 450 watt stand mixer. I'm a little scared of the lift-bowl design- I would have prefered a tilt-head but I wanted the higher wattage for making icing, cookies & breads (my 350 watt Sunbeam gets a little hot when I make a big batch of icing)

Anyone have this mixer? What's your opinion? Please share your stories (good or bad!)

I don't know what model I have but mine has the bowl lift mechanism and it's great. No problems and I actually prefer it to the tilt head. Sounds like you got a great price! Congrats!

Thanks - I only wanted to spend around $250 for a KA & the only ones I could find in Dept stores were the 350 watt Artisan mixers (which I have also heard were good). I think I had read on this site to get one w/more pwr to use for breads, icings, etc. I was very happy w/the price!!

Glad you like yours - can't wait to try mine out!

I started off with the 6QT bowl lift and bought a 4.5 QT tilt head to supplement for smaller jobs. I found out that I like the bowl lift sooooo much better.

Sounds like a deal to me too! The bowl lifter thing took some getting use too but now I love it! Enjoy!
