Really off topic but I was shopping today at Michael's with my sister. I picked up some gifts for her and you know how the Michael's bags are really transparent? Well I asked the lovely young cashier to please wrap the items in paper so my sister wouldn't see them. She commented that it was funny how stores had see through bags and that they would be better off having the black heavy bags that "Adult Only" stores used. Well, I couldn't resist, in front of a long line-up of customers, I asked her how she would know that! Well, that poor girl turned beet red but fortunately she had a sense of humour and had to laugh.

.....oh...I'm just thinking out loud. I'm such a "out of the box" person in alot of ways. I devour discussions including politics and religion....and didn't realize until this thread, that I must remain in the box on this site. So I'm "well hmmmmmmmmmm-ing" about that. I hate the box. And I hate people who tell me what I can and can't discuss. But I like this place, so I guess I'll crawl back in and just think cake.

Well, I am more of an "Out of the bag" kind of person, sort of a freezer bag I think, that people wish they could just lock and seal out the oxygen and maybe I would shut up, haha!
My, I think you would love my oldest daughter and hubby, the heated discussions that they get into! I think she was about 4 years old when she insisted on sitting around the adults listening to political discussions and soon had her own opinion. Were you always like that, even as a child? I think some people are born with those wonderful kinds of minds that question the status quo!

I love discussions about religion and politics.... I definitely think outside the box. However, i will defer to that old saying.... "There's a time and a place for everything". Cakecentral is definitely not the place.

I agree squirrelly and cake princess.....I love to discuss politics and religion, but please, don't get me started. If I get on a political rant, it is one that will never end, and it will get ugly.


HENCE, it is not that anyone is thinking inside the box, phoov....I think many cake decorators are just natural artists and creative thinkers and quite capably of that. However, they just would rather this discussion forum stay mainly on the ever controversial subject of cakes.
People tend to get very heated, beligerant, and irate when disagreeing on politics....I know I do and I am probably the worst offender. I therefore think the administrators want to keep this a pretty place, and they are just kindly asking people to let the bantering happen elsewhere. No one is trying to oppress anyone here.....we are just trying to maintain the focus of cake decorating.
