Someone wants me to do a cookie that looks like a Maltese (white little dog). Do you know where I can start with that one?!??! I was thinking of getting a terrier shaped cutter and "faking" it a little. any other options??

I actually saw a cutter online somewhere shaped like a maltese, I will look to see if I can locate it again but couldn't you do lots with royal icing to create 'hair' or even pushing fondant or gumpaste through a clay extruder to create hair?

You could get a good picture of the sillohuette of a maltese online and print it out, then use that to trace and either make a stencil (and cut around it with an exacto knife).. or there are direction in the Articles section of cakecentral to make your own cookie cutter!

WOW! that was fast!
thanks I'll have to see what I should do. I don't expect to be getting alot of maltese cookie orders but if it also doubles as a shitzu then i can make some for my MIL (she has one)

I have pugs and that cookie cutter is too cute!! I would only make the cookies for myself...for my puppy's birthday, of course!! thumbs_up.gif
