I have a wedding cake to make in a few weeks. I am trying to decide whether or not to use real or fresh roses. I have found nice real roses, but does anyone know where I can get silk roses? Right now Michaels has mostly Christmas flowers and Walmarts selections arent that great here. Any ideas and suggestions would be great help.

here is a website that I was going to use to by silk orchids if we couldn't find fresh. not sure about the quality b/c we didn't end up using silk.

but they look nice and reasonable priced.

My personal preference is fresh before silk. An exception would be for an unusual color, but most roses can be ordered from a florist.

For silks, other craft stores, some fabric stores (Joanns) or Michael's online might have them.

See if the bride will add them to her florist order.

Thanks for the ideas and the help. I think that I am going to have to go with fresh ones since the choices locally for silk arent a lot.

I have saved this site to my favorites, I will definetly use it from time to time.

This is an excellent silk flower source, they are VERY reasonably priced, you can get them by the stem too.

I have used both fresh and silk. I like fresh, but some fresh flowers are not suitable to be put on a cake, they are toxic. The silk alternative to those flowers would be much better.
