Does anyone know how far in advance you can make MMF and how long does it keep for? Do you have to refridgerate it after you make it?

I've only made mine up to a week in advance before. I've kept it wrapped in plastic wrap and inside a heavy duty zip loc bag in my pantry. All I needed to do was pop it in the microwave for a few seconds and it was good to go.

I make mine 1-2 days ahead of time... the only reason that I make it 1-2 days is because I don't like it when a crust forms on the outer layer..
it is hard, I have to cut that part and toss it. But shelf life wise, it will last even a week. icon_smile.gifthumbs_up.gif

I DO NOT ADVISE THIS, however I know the shelf life is Very long. You see my Golden Retriever is hypothyroid-needs a pill twice daily, Loves MMF sooo. The left overs I have I wrap tightly and use to give the dog is pill in. On occasion I have sneeked a bite too. My only consern is that the dog will become hypothyroid and diabetic. LOL LOL

I have kept mine, wrapped tightly in saran and then in a zipper type bag, in the fridge for weeks. I know others keep theirs at room temp but it is just a mental thing with me. If you find it too stiff to work with just pop it in the micro for a few seconds and it will soften right up for you!
