Here's the wedding cake that went with the rubik's cube groom's cake I already posted... Between the Rolie Polie Olie cake disaster Friday, and the wedding cakes (and attending the wedding) yesterday, I'm STILL tired. I didn't get home from the wedding until 2am!
Thanks to everyone for all your support and encouragement the last few days... I'm just glad this weekend is almost over and I can go back to my regular JOB!
Very nice. My son love the rubik's cube. This cake is very pretty. I like the colors that were chosen. The goldfish topper is original. cute idea.
This is beautiful. Love the colors and the detail of it! Now get as much rest as you can before your next big cake. You deserve it!
Thank you! I was really worried about it, because I couldn't seem to get the IMBC smooth (only my second time using it) but thankfully the shells covered a multitude of sins
Just gorgeous! The live fish as a topper is fantastic--it's a very elegant cake, but still lighthearted--well done!
Your cake is beautiful, especially the color and the little bubbles on it. The live fish topper, so original.
Your cake is absolutely beautiful. What a creative cake topper. So original. I love it! I never would have thought to use a real fish.
why was Rolly Polly a disaster? I just looked at the picture and thought it was great!
Thank you everyone! I was a little afraid of using the live fish - but since it was my idea I figured I'd better pull it off!
sofiasmami: Thank you. The rolie polie olie was supposed to be a cake in his shape, not just with him on top. That's why it was a disaster... but it worked out in the end, and the mom was happy
cakefanatic: The shells are all white chocolate. I shook them in a plastic baggie with "silk white" luster dust, because the bride didn't want a really pearlized look. The little pearls, though, were shaken with super pearl dust.
Thanks again to everyone for your nice comments!
They all look fantastic. I love the Rolly Polly...very cute. Take a trip to the spa, it looks and sounds like you earned it!
Just beautiful! Can I ask, where did you get the mold for the scallop shells. I love them!
a trip to the spa sounds NICE! I'm leaving tomorrow to spend a week with my grandparents, which is almost as good (they still spoil me rotten )
dodi: I got all the molds at my local cake supply store... sorry I can't be more help.
Beautiful job. I love the colors and the all of the embellishments are wonderful. Congratulations on a job well done!!!!
Happy Holidays!!
Cindy
