My 14 year old daughter came home from school day before yesterday telling me about a conversation she had. She was talking to one of her good friends about the cakes I make & stuff. Then a girl butted in & said " I bet my mom cooks better than yours. She has her own bakery." My daughter replied " One, you don't know my mom. Two, you're not in the conversation. Three, You haven't tasted my mom's cooking. Go about your business."
Well, my daughter took in 30 cupcakes for her life skills class ( Home Ec). She got in the car yesterday & said the girl who was so smart to her was mad because the whole school was talking about how wonderful my cupcakes were. I also made cakeballs for all eight of her teachers & some friends. Everyone has contacted me to tell me how they loved them & they want more. I'm not that good at decorating cakes, but at least everything tastes good. My daughter is trying to talk me into opening a bakery. I don't have the time or energy right now. All of my baking is non-profit baking. I bake & people eat it.
I just wanted to let everyone know what a sweet daughter I have.

Kudos to you and your daughter!! Your daughter sounds like my 28 yr old daughter. She was straight forward as a child and still is today as the office manager for an Orthopaedic Surgeon. If only they really knew how proud they make us as their Mothers! icon_biggrin.gif

Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments. I thank God everyday for my daughter. Teen years can be tough, but I wouldn't trade what I have for anything.

That is the BEST compliment ever! It brings another little tweak to your heart and how much you can love a little person. This baby just put out to this girl that you are her hero, there is nothing that can top that. Enjoy it and give her a big 'ol hug. Congratulations!
