I know there are a few of you who use hi-ratio shortening. Where do you buy it, and is there a brand that is better than another? The only one I have heard of it Alpine. Does your frosting taste different? And can you tell me what the difference in regualar and hi-ratio is? Sorry for so many questions, but before I get some I need the info on it. Thanks, Keli

Hi Keli,

I use only hi ratio shortening in my frosting. I have used Alpine bought from www.sugacraft.com and the Kitchen Krafts hi ratio shortening from www.kitchenkrafts.com. I am now useng Bunge brand bought from a bakery supply wholesaler. I didn't find any difference in these three brands, and I loved them all! It makes my frosting taste smoother and fluffier....no greasy mouth.

HTH,
Berta
