Hi, all ~

Just wondering if there were any more concentrated icing color gels than Wilton. I have to add and add and add when I'm doing red, brown, black. It drives me insane! Is Americolor better?

Thanks,
Julie

Americolor is the BEST in my opinion!!!!! Worth the money!! It doesn't take but a few drops to get the color you want. Try Americolor you'll love it!!

Yep! Americolor is the only color I use, Wilton is just weak goo in comparison. And Americolor comes in little squeeze bottles with a flip top so much less of a mess in comparison again to the Wilton goo in a jar. The Americolor super black is really black, not purple or grey; and super red is RED!!!! not pink or lavender or anywhere in between. Americolor is the best!

The squeeze gel bottles are the only way I've seen them. I know there are other forms but my supplier only carries the gel in the bottles (except for the airbrush colors by Americolor, then it is liquid in the larger bottle). My supplier said the gel was the best way to go and has never had a compliant so that is the only form she will carry.

I'll have to look for them, they sound way less messy. I have only seen them just like the little WIlton jars...

thanks for the tips!! I am on a search for them now....

I have heard really good things about americolor. If you are unable to get it before you need it...I have noticed that using a combination of red-red and christmas red will goe you a better red than using only no-taste red.

I think we all need to get our americolor red since christmas is just right around the corner. I sometimes have trouble finding it at Michaels or Hobby Lobby around the holidays. icon_smile.gif

yep! Here's the website to the brick and mortar store I get my supplies from. They used to have a link here on CC, don't know why not now.

www.doitwithicing.com

Do It With Icing. The owner's name is Linda, she is also the current San Diego Cake Club President. If you have any questions about anything sugar related, give her a call and she'll be glad to answer your questions, she's great. She can also find just about anything. If you want something she doesn't have listed in her store, she can get it for you.

Hope this helps

Americolor has my vote too! It only takes a little bit to get the desired color. I like the idea of the squeeze bottle..that way no messing with a toothpick!

I just bought both sets of Americolor Gel Colors from Country Kitchens. They are wonderful. They come in squeeze bottles and are not nearly as messy as Wilton. The colors are definitely more brilliant and more defined.
