How much do you charge for cupcakes? Ihave an order for 24 cupcakes and was wondering what to charge.
Thanks in advance for all the wonderful advice you guys give.

...it really depends on how they are going to be decorated. The more complicated the decorations..the higher the price. Cupcakes could go for $1 to $1.50 or more.

Hi,

I charge $15 per dozen but I use a TON of buttercream (look at my pics). Sometimes they take mo longer than a cake...but people don't always realize that and they also don't want to pay much for cupcakes sometimes. I was in Wal-Mart yesterday and they had 6 cupcakes for $2.50....That's $5/dozen and that wouldn't barely cover my ingredients! Of course I'm not trying to compete with them, but when it comes to cupcakes most people want rock bottom prices.

I have learned that as more and more people buy mine, they realize they are worth the extra $$ and they are willing to pay.

HTH,
Berta

I did the baby cupcakes from the Wilton 2006 YB and charged $23, which was $1.00 per. Covered in MMF.

I've seen $1.50 for a small cupcake decorated with a buttercream flower.
