I was in my somewhat "local" cake store today (it's really about 45 mintues away) and I saw Kopykake turntables that really caught my attention!! Battery operated!!! You can set the speed and the direction it moves.
Does anyone have one? If so, what do you think if it?
I am really, really bad at turning with my left hand while trying to smooth or decorate with my right at the same time (I also stopped playing piano as soon as I had to do different things with each hand ), so I thought this sounded really interesting. They sell for about $200 and are non-returnable, so I was reluctant to buy it today. I see it on their web site, too.
Any thoughts?
Hi bonniebakes,
I am terrible at turning the table with my left hand also...heard about this type of table from someone else's website along time ago and can't remember the name for the life of me
It wasn't that costly if memory serves me right. For $200 bucks, that sucker had better wash and put its ownself away
I stopped taking piano lessons also...got tired of having my knuckles cracked with a ruler by my teacher
For some reason unbeknownest to me, I just couldn't keep my wrists arched
from what i remember reading on another board, its ok to use for piping boards but not for icing the cake, as i doesn't turn fastenough. i think that is what it said.
I was watching Martha Stewart clips on her website and there is a cool turntable, it's not battery operated but I am wondering where would I get one of these? The top where the cake would sit was silver. I would really like to get one of these....does anyone know where I could get one????
