Has Anyone Received A Call From Betty Crocker???

I got a call today from BC and they wanted me to participate in some type of marketing research... They wanted to send me some cake mix and I would have had to make a single layer wedding cake with it. They also wanted pictures of the cake and I would have had to participate in a 30 minute phone interview. They would have paid $$ for my time!! Unfortunantely, they needed this done the same week I have finals, so I couldn't do it...
Has anyone been contaced??? They had a friend of mine on their list too!!
It's possible they are only doing This in certain test market. Call them up and find out if it's something that's valid if you Really want to know.
Princess
me either.... sounds a little fishy.
It didn't sound fishy to me... I didn't have to pay anything and they would have sent me free product, plus paid me for my time. I think they may be testing a new white cake mix (maybe they're changing the forumula) and wanted some feedback on how it tasted and worked for wedding cakes. I told her to keep me in mind for the next one they do!!
I was just curious if anyone else got a call...
I want to know how you got on that call list... That's a telamarketer I would talk to...
I don't know ...but usualy they use their own kitchens. Most big companies use outside marketing agencies to find consumers to try their products that will pay you to do a focus group or test a product (Genneral Mills is a large company I just don't think they would do it themselves). You can email from Betty Crockers site at http://consumercontacts.generalmills.com/ConsolidatedContact.aspx?page=http://www.bettycrocker.com or if you you want or call General Mills at 763-764-7600. Or maybe if you are a registered user at bettycrocker.com? Wow would be cool if they call again.
Could they have possibly gotten your name from the latest contest you won at, were they sponsors at that event?
I've never been called by Betty although I would love to be in a focus group like that.
Sorry you couldn't participate! If only they used Bakers in Canada, I'd jump on the chance! I strictly use BC cake mixes for my cakes and everyone thinks they are scratch! If only they knew
Sounds like fun..I would have participated although knowing me I would have been suspicious because it sounds too good to happen to me!
Any idea how they got your name & number Tami??
That's pretty cool. I went to their website and registered to receive their newsletter but they didn't ask for an address or phone number. I wonder how you two got singled out? Lucky. Sounds fun!
I'd probably go to their website and search for this type of marketing - or email them and ask...I'd hate to get bombarded with future telemarketing calls! And if you send a picture, what are your rights to it? Can they use it anywhere? What if its not even Betty Crocker calling? How do you know for sure?? Sorry - I am a huge skeptic!!
I have no idea how they got my name. I received the package yesterday and can't wait to get started. WOW WOW WOW.
