I've been trying for most of the morning to order items from Cakes by Sam and from Cake Art. Neither website will let me get to the final step of ordering. Has anyone else had this problem? I finally went to Country Kitchen and placed the order. I was glad I did because it came out cheaper but there are still items I want to order from Cakes by Sam and they won't take orders over the phone. For instance, I need some candy molds that are in the fifties style (records, musical notes & etc.). Any suggestions?

Have you tried emailing them? Maybe if you email them and leave a contact # or something, they'll get back to you.

Maybe you can call them and let them know you are having a problem with ordering online.

In the mean time, have you tried www.sugarcraft.com? You might be able to find what you need there. I have ordered from them and was very pleased, fast delivery too!

Hope that helps!

I've tried Sugarcraft, too. They are giving me problems. I just ordered from another company with no problems.

Check out:

www.cakesnthings.com

They have some really neat things.

I tried calling Sugarcraft and they're the ones that said they can't take the order over the phone. They suggested that there was something wrong with my computer. I told them I had a substantial order but they weren't interested in helping. I've ordered from them before and it was great. Oh, well, I'm still looking for more 1950's items for a cake I need to do.

I would check into your computer, you could have a problem and not know it.

Last week my husband found a trojan virus on ours and we didn't even know it for a while.

If it was just one site you were having problems with, I'd say it was their site, but since you're having problems with many of them, there has to be something wrong with your computer. Try running your virus scan (you're up to date, right?), you could also clean up your disk, clear your cache and whatnot.

As far as getting your order through, I'd also email them and tell them you're having problems with their ordering process. That, or have a friend submit your order for you. Good luck.

gilson6,

If you are still looking for the candy molds try www.getsuckered.com. They have tons of candy molds for chocolate and hard candy.

Thanks! I'm still looking for 50's items. I'm the chairperson for our Mr. GQ (a beauty contest for the Senior boys) at our High School and the theme is 50s. I'm doing a cake for about 500 people.

Have you tried calling some of the cake stores in Houston? There is one off of 59, and one in Sugarland.

The gal who runs Cakeart has been having some trouble with her checkout process for a couple of weeks now. It kept dropping items I had in the cart - and I would have to do it all over again.

But - I emailed her and she took my order by email - and I was still able to pay by Paypal - she sent me a special link.

I like her stuff and I like her sevice.

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from an online place: Globalsugarart.com seems to have a lot. Also, Pfeil and Holing? They had a wonderful selection of gumpaste flowers etc.

My idea for the cake is to have a 3 tier square. The bottom two would be stacked and the top would be on pillars. The colors are pink, black, white & silver. I'm making chocolate molded 50s items (hamburgers, fried, soda pop bottles, records, 57 chevy & etc.) to put on the cake and the topper would be a record with sparkly ribbon. I'm really excited about it since it could lead to a lot more business. I'm donating the cake since I'm the chairperson of the event.
