Has anyone ever been asked to make a Kitty Litter Cake?
I have icon_lol.gif and I'm trying to decide if I should use a cardboard box cut down, or the litter pan I bought at Wal-Mart, it just seems so big. If anyone has made one, I'd like to hear...Thanks (last week i was making Hello Kitty Cookies and the cake, and this week this....hope this isn't someone trying to tell me something)

You can't find a small litter pan, and I can never find one that are big enough!!!!

If you can't find one small enough, you might try using a disposable aluminum pan from the dollar store.

Here are some kitty litter cakes from the gallery to inspire you:

Yes, you can make it in the kitty litter box you purchased at that store to be left unamed. You can also find a smaller bin that is similar in shape but smaller in size. It really goes a long way to make it look like the real thing.
I have made it and it is always a hit with the kids. Grosses out the parents. Make sure you include the scoop to get it out.

I'm not sure if it's ture, but I read somewhere a while back that the "pans" for kitty litter are NOT food safe. Does anyone know if this is true?

I wasn't sure about the cat box being food safe when I made one last year for my daughter. I lined it with an oven bag, like you would use for turkey or roast and it worked fine.

I found a small kitty litter box for a cake I did for my son's school - it's a plastic box, never really thought about it being "food safe", just washed it really good before using.

In a pinch a foil pan would work great. I also bought a new scoop to serve with!
