Hi Everyone. I'm new to this forum. I'm getting married in a few months and I got my entire wedding sponsored by using www.thesponsoredweddingguide.com using a bunch of different businesses. Including the cake. The problem is I'm a little nervous about how it's gonna turn out. A reputable business is sponsoring the cake. And I got to pick out the cake I wanted but I 'm just wondering if because they sponsored the cake will they take as much time and care in making it as they would someone who paid them? Do you think I should order a backup cake from another place instead and just pay for it myself? Or do you think I'm just being silly? After all I am advertising their business for them at my wedding. I was wondering what you guys think I should do. I've gotten everything else sponsored all right but when it comes to the food . It makes me a little more nervous. Thanks

I think that if this is a reputable company they will do the best job for you just like they do for their paying customers. I checked out the website like that you included and it looked reputable. I don't think you should feel nervous. Have you talked to other brides that have gone this route? That would be the next thing to do. Surely this cake company has done this before -- try asking if they have references from other brides that they have "sponsored" the cake for.

I think the fact that their business is being advertised they will take it very serious. Who want to have a bad name. They might work extra hard because they want the business.

As gilson6 said try asking for references. (That's a great idea)

Welcome to CC and Congrats.

Good Luck,

I agree with Gib.....I don't think they want to ruin their reputation by not producing a quality cake.If you look at it this way...they may not be paid directly for their cake but the business that they could receive from the guests and potential customers from the wedding would be way more than the cost of one wedding cake!!! Everything will turn out great!!

In my opinion if I were sponsering a cake that was advertising my business I would want it to be one of the best cakes I had done. That cake is a reflection of your business. usaribbon.gif

Just my own personal feeling, when I'm doing a cake, it doesn't matter if I'm donating it or getting paid very well for it, I want to do my absolute best! For me, it's more about how others will like it more than how much am I getting paid. I would be so upset with myself if someone didn't like a cake I made for them.

I agree that they will probably take it just as, if not more seriously where it's advertising for them. As a bride you will worry about every detail, there's just no way around it! Congratulations and Good luck!
