I have seen numerous posts about the recipe for the Black Velvet Cake and I've been searching all my recipe sites that I now of. Is it possible that it is called something else? I have the recipe for the White and the Red Velvet but would love the Black Velvet one, too.
Sorry...I too have never heard of Black Velvet. It sounds like something really chocolatey though. Hope that someone else can help.
I checked one other site and found it!!!
Here it is:
2 cups almonds - slivered and slightly toasted
12 oz. chocolate chips
1 devil's food cake mix
1 package chocolate pudding - instant 3.5 oz.
4 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Sprinkle 1/2 c. almonds and 1/2 c. chocolate chips on bottom of greased 10 inch tube pan
Set aside the rest of the almonds and chocolate chips
Place remaining ingredients in mixer bowl. Beat 4 minutes
Fold in remaining chips and almonds, pour in pan
Bake @ 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes
Cool 15 minutes and remove from pan
Serve with topping of whipped cream if desired.
Guess what I'm making next????
I found a link.

Click on recipes and it will give you some choices of some different recipes. You can also do a search...I saw several other recipes for black velvet cake as well.
Dang all these different cake names confuse me. Is it the almonds that make it a black velvet cake??? Cause the recipe is just reg ole doctored choc cake mix.
