I've searched but I can't find a thread on charging for regular cookies. If someone can please help I'd appreciate it. I'm adding chocolate chips, sugar cookies, peanut butter, and oatmeal to my menu. Thanks
Unless you are making giant cookies, require the purchase of a full dozen, then price them by the dozen. You probably won't want people requesting 6 cookies. I normally charge $4 a dozen for plain cookies.
Thanks JoAnnB,
and when you make your cookies approx how large are they? I have the wilton cookie scoop but I have seen larger ones and I was wondering if I should go larger than the wilton when pricing cookies?
I use a #30 scoop, it is a medium sized scoop. It gives a yield somewhat smaller than the recipe states. I should have mentioned before, I often sell cookies only by the batch, rather then by the dozen. It isn't worth the time in the kitchen to sell a dozen cookies.
If you have a good freezer (not part of the fridge) ,some cookie doughs can be pre-scooped and frozen-very well wrapped and sealed. So you can keep some on hand. that only works if you have a fair turnover. If the dough is older than a few weeks, I just bake them and give them to family.
thanks JoAnn. Yeah, I was wondering about selling by the batch because I wouldn't want to be left with cookie (more for me to eat). thanks again
