My DH has given me nothing but attitude today. icon_mad.gificon_cry.gif

BUT, he took me to the dr. yesterday to have a spinal injection and while I was lying in recovery in pain and mad at the world, he made me laugh and cheered me up, so it's hard to be mad at him today. icon_rolleyes.gif

My 4 y-o DS did tell me this morning that I am his valentine, so that's getting me through the day. icon_biggrin.gif

nothing. I'm hoping i get some sort of suprise later, I'd take anything... chocolates, flowers, whatever. He has school all day and then works until late. we are gonna watch our favorite movie. His birthday was yesterday so I bought him a really expensive birthday/valentines day present. a $250 mp3 player he really wanted but couldn't afford because his tax return was ALOT lower than he thought. I suprised him and gave it to him a week ago so he would be extra suprised. He actually cried he was so happy. And I think we are going out to eat next week to celebrate because i'm going to syracuse to see my family this week and he's going home to see his family from Germany.

I've had years when I got nothing too, so I can certainly sympathize.

For the last two years I've rec'd a dozen roses, heart box of chocolate, and a stuffed animal. I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts!! Husbands and relationships are very unpredictable! icon_smile.gif

I'm so sorry too. My husband will probably be asking for one soon also. I'm so depressed today, he used to always surprise me with flowers. But he quit his job 3 years ago and refuses to work. So I had to go to work to support the children and it makes me cranky all the time (11 hours away from home each day). We just kind of went down hill from there. And now the kids dislike me too. I spent all Monday night crying. icon_cry.gif

Today is our 26th wedding anniversary! I found a very romantic card in my car this morning (he leaves for work at 6:00AM) which was a great way to start the day. He always has flowers delivered to my job (they haven't arrived yet icon_rolleyes.gif ), and he made reservations for dinner tonight for our whole familly--us, youngest son and oldest son and his fiance'. DH is the best Valentine's gift I ever received ! thumbs_up.gif

LeanLioness and sweetflowers,
I feel for the both of you. What a time of year to be going through this. I will think about you and pray for you often. My DH called me earlier this week and said "I hate to do this to you as it will spoil the surprise but, I have a deal for you. Would you rather get flowers for Valentine's Day or get your hair colored and styled?" Of course I chose the hair, as my grey is really starting to show. I got him a really cute teddy bear wearing a sweater that says Love and a heart shaped box of M&M's.

I told my husband, a week ago, not to get me anything. I was not buying him anything either. I rather save our money to go do Disney World at the end of the year. I'm not won that needs all the special gifts and things. Flowers you spend so much on them and they die in a week. And the other things I don't need.

Thanks everyone, you've helped me feel a little better. Everyone at work got jewelry this year it seems. Three of the ladies got Tahitian pearls, I guess that's the trend.

Melvira, how are you doing?

We usually just do cards. I wouldl prefer he get me flowers in June or something like that so I am truely surprised and they are cheaper. But last night while I had our 2 kids at b-ball practice he stopped on his way home and got a doz roses. They were waiting for me when I arrived home & he had dinner ready! I was totally surprised and love it!!

I make remarks at all of the jewelry ads, because that sort of thing is not my style. So hubby found a card with a 'Perfect Wife' button on it - the card reads "Buttons are sort of like jewelry, aren't they?" he wrote heh, heh, heh! on the bottom. icon_biggrin.gif

I got him a reservation for a campsite over the weekend. (Yes, I'm going too...)

I got a nice set of pliars to help me make cookie cutters, and a print server so I can print my edible images on my upstairs edible image printer without taking my laptop up there. And also a box of Andes mints, which is kind of funny because I work at the Olive Garden and got my fill of free mints my first week working there.... I pretty much never want to eat one again, but it's the thought that counts! My son will like them! icon_smile.gif

I don't think my boyfriend even realized it is Valentine's Day today . . . I'm just not into the holiday anyways. I always feel so bad for my friends who panic over what to get their wives/girlfriends for such a non-holiday! My honey does so many nice things for me all year long, I don't need one day a year to torture him into finding the "perfect" gift. (Plus that . . . flowers are cute and all but they just die . . . I always tell him to get me a plant or something pretty for the backyard insted of getting ripped off on roses.) Maybe this is why we sometimes joke that I am more like a man about romantic things than he is??? icon_razz.gif

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone out there . . .

I'm ok Sweetflowers, thank you for asking. I am high on vicodin right now, so it could be worse. The bad news is that I will be in pain for a few days, the good news is that the vicodin makes me not care! icon_wink.gif Of course, because of the accident I can't give my hubby HIS V-day present... I don't think in my condition physically, and with regard to the medication, I should be tottering around on 5 inch heels! hehehehe icon_redface.gif did I say that out loud? It's the drugs! icon_wink.gif

Well, DH always lets me sleep in and he gets the kids ready before work. This morning, I decieded to make him breakfast and some hot tea (our coffee pots broken and it's freeeeezing here).
Meanwhile, he's wrapping a gift in the basement(little did I know) and he walks right past me in the kitchen while my backs turned and lays it on the table. It was wrapped like a giant piece of candy(I have a really big sweet tooth lol). Sorry to go on and on, but I was so excited. Long story short, it was a case for my new cell phone and he wrote a sweet note which I found on my pillow when I went back to bed!! I'll have to post again later, I'm sure because if I know my DH, he has something else up his sleeve and he loves to keep me in suspense!! HAve a great day ladies. Lot and lots of love and prayers to those going through the thick of it right now.

Well, my hunny just called all mad because the place he'd ordered flowers from just called him to say they didn't have any of those flowers (which he ordered a week ago and they told him no problem icon_mad.gificon_cry.gif ).

He's soooo sweet, though. He had ordered me a bouquet of Plumerias, which remind me of our wedding. We got married last June in Maui and the Plumerias were everywhere and smelled so fabulous. Oh well, it's the thought that counts right? And, they did substitute for them so I'll be getting something. I love him so much!
